# Meeting Recorder — Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 12, 2026

**The short version: everything stays on your Mac.** Meeting Recorder records, transcribes and summarizes entirely on your computer. It has no accounts, no analytics, no tracking, and no servers that ever see your audio, transcripts, or notes. We couldn't read your meetings if we wanted to — the app has nowhere to send them.

## 1. Who we are

Meeting Recorder for macOS is made by Geniuses Software ("we", "us"), the operator of gensoft.ge. This policy covers the Meeting Recorder app distributed through the Mac App Store and this website's Meeting Recorder pages.

## 2. What the app records, and where it goes

- **Audio** is captured only while you have started a recording, from the sources you chose (your microphone and/or the audio your Mac plays), and is written to files on your Mac.
- **Transcripts and AI summaries** are produced by AI models running on your Mac — not in the cloud. They are saved as plain files on your Mac, in a folder you can open, move, or delete at any time.
- **Nothing is uploaded.** No audio, transcript, summary, filename, or any information about your meetings is transmitted to us or to anyone else.

## 3. What the app collects about you

Nothing. The app has no account system, no sign-in, no analytics, no crash reporting, and no advertising or tracking of any kind. We do not know who installs it, how it is used, or that you exist — unless you choose to write to us.

## 4. When the app uses the network

The app connects to the internet for exactly one purpose: **downloading the AI models** (speech-recognition and summary models) on first use. These downloads fetch fixed public files and carry no personal information beyond what any internet download inherently reveals to the file host (your IP address). After the models are downloaded, transcription and summaries work fully offline — airplane mode included.

## 5. macOS permissions

- **Microphone** — used only to record when you start a recording that includes your mic.
- **Screen & System Audio Recording** — macOS requires this permission to capture the audio your Mac plays (the other side of a call). The app captures audio only; it does not read, store, or transmit your screen.

Both permissions are used solely while a recording you started is running, and you can revoke them at any time in System Settings.

## 6. Purchases

Payment is handled entirely by Apple through the Mac App Store. We receive aggregate sales statistics from Apple, but no names, emails, or payment details of individual buyers. Apple's own privacy policy governs the purchase.

## 7. Support

If you contact us through the support form (https://gensoft.ge/meeting-recorder/support) or by email, we receive what you send — typically your name, email address, and message. We use it only to reply and resolve your issue, keep it only as long as the conversation needs, and never share or sell it.

## 8. Your data, your control

All recordings, transcripts, and summaries live in files on your Mac. Deleting them, or deleting the app, removes everything — there is no copy anywhere else, and nothing for us to delete on your behalf.

## 9. Children

The app is not directed at children under 13 and collects no data from anyone, including children.

## 10. Changes to this policy

If we ever change how the app handles data, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date above. Given the app's design — no servers, no collection — we expect changes to be rare.
